Hi guys! In addition to the usual feed-the-cats-dog-horses water-plants-weed-beds and assorted morning chores, I have been cooking up a storm today. Turkey was on sale last week (hmmm, ordered too many for Easter? Ya think?) so I baked a turkey, made cole slaw, made my famous chicken liver pate which is FABULOUS if you like pate, made my first-ever batch of chocolate chip mint ice cream (yummy taste but the texture's not creamy enough - I shouldn't have skimped on the cream, it's more like ice milk), and have home-made cinnamon rolls rising at the moment. Yes, I am not planning to lift a finger in the kitchen for at least three days :-) At which point, it'll be time to make turkey stoup -- and no, that's not a typo :p

So, while the rolls are getting all fluffy and plump, I figured it was time to hunt up a freebie! Hi everyone! I'm sorry I didn't get to doing a freebie today. I've just been flat out since I got up this morning. How flat out, you ask? Well, it's 9:30 p.m. and I just had what I guess musta been lunch... lol! But a very busy and productive spring day, lots of stuff done out in the barn (the minis' stall desperately needed some attention, plus we have GOT to get more organized if we're going to make everything fit and be accessible out there), yard work, tree trimming, garden prep work... Yep, it was a Monday. :p

Gee, you'd think I lived in the country or something....

Oh. Right. I also mucked out the old chicken shed which was crammed full of odd and assorted junk/stuff.  I'm getting chickens.  :-)

LOL and happy April 1st! The free Rottweiler was actually available yesterday, and I got the last one!

If you follow me on Facebook, you already know that Sweetie (as I'm calling her, and she totally deserves the name) was wandering around in front of the local grocery store yesterday when I went to get milk. The customer service girl paged the customers and I waited 20 minutes to see if her owner was there. After that, the store was going to call the animal control officer to take her to the pound, so I brought her home with me. She's up on Craigslist and the local paper's classifieds, and I have no doubt her owners are looking for her -- she's purebred, incredibly sweet, and moderately well-mannered (we're working on that last a lot today! Even if she's only here for three days, they'll go much smoother if she knows her limits.)

So I'm sorry I didn't get to post a freebie yesterday -- it ended up being a very busy day :p  Today, in honor of our loving four-footed friends, we have a free Meow Mix Pate Toppers sample from Walmart!  And ya know what?
